My cousin Anna asked me to illustrate and write
the story of Pietro and Kobe.
She told me it was a Christmas idea for a gift and that she wanted to do something special.
"The day Pietro and his family went to pick out
Kobe was a hot summer day. I remember him telling me that choosing a puppy was
the hardest thing to do
So I like to imagine him closing his eyes and
let fate do its thing.
I think it did a good job.
Kobe
was too young to go outside, so wondering around the house was his best game
By being his first dog, Pietro wasn’t sure how
to behave with Kobe. “Kobe fetch!"
“sit”
“Give me your paw”
“Lie down”
At his first out-door walk, Kobe was so excited
that his battery of strengths warned out immediately.
But trying again, Kobe had the knowledge to get
every girls attention….
…. Almost every girl.
But he’s impossible to resist.
Growing up Kobe started to have Pietro’s same
taste for sport’s….. but with different interest.
The love of daily snooze.
And when Pietro and I first brought Kobe to the
beach
He learned how to hunt his first prey.
Today Kobe is as tall as I am
and Pietro says that when I walk with Kobe we shake
our bum in the same way."
